Homes for Heroes: Military, Medical, and First-Responders Save on Homes

We’re proud of our heroes—and believe in rewarding them for their service. That’s why we became an affiliate member of Homes for Heroes®, a nationwide network of real estate and mortgage specialists that provide rewards to our nation’s heroes as a way to say “Thank You.”

As a member of this network, we connect heroes with exclusive cash savings when buying, selling, refinancing, or making home-related purchases. In fact, Homes for Heroes® has helped nearly 55,000 heroes save over $100 million to date.

Who’s it for?

Homes For Heroes® benefits are available to the following:

  • Active and veteran military service membership
  • Active and veteran law enforcement
  • Firefighters
  • Paramedics
  • EMTs
  • First-responders
  • Healthcare professionals
  • Teachers

How do I benefit?

As a baseline standard, qualifying heroes must save at least $2,400 when buying or selling a home through the affiliate program. That said, savings may far exceed that baseline savings. San Diego heroes, for example, save an average of $6,580 through the program.

How does the program work?

It’s straightforward. Those looking to purchase a home should expect to save 0.7 percent on the home’s purchase price. That’s $700 on every $100,000 spent and the money comes with no strings attached.

After you close on your new home, Homes For Heroes® sends you a check in the mail, which you can use to purchase anything you need for your new property.

What’s more, if you work with qualified Homes For Heroes® mortgage companies, title and inspection specialists, you’ll save an additional average of:

  • $500 on lender fees
  • $150 on title services
  • $50 on home inspections

In total, you can expect to save an average of $2,400 after closing.

The Circle of Giving. What’s that?

Funding for the Homes for Heroes® foundation comes from the non-profit organization Homes for Heroes® Circle of Giving. When you work with an affiliate real estate specialist to buy or sell a home, Homes for Heroes® donates a portion of the earnings to the foundation.

In other words, when you participate in the program, you contribute to it. So, you save money when you buy or sell a home, and help others save money, too. If that’s not a good thing, we don’t know what is.
